How Does Your Nervous System Work?

Can you ride a bicycle? Are you afraid of spiders? What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? As you think about each of these questions, different parts of your nervous system are processing information to come up with responses. When (or if) you are actually riding a bicycle, feeling that fear of spiders, or enjoying the taste of a double-dip vanilla cone, other parts of your nervous system are being activated. Most of us have bodies and brains that process information in typical ways. But sometimes the processing is different from the norm, as happens in ADHD and other brain disorders. To understand your psychology, you need to understand how your brain and body let you think and behave.
